Many of us have ended up with a cavity or two in the past. Whether you notice it because you have increased sensitivity or your dentist picks up on it before you do, it\u2019s important that you have it treated right away so you don\u2019t end up with a more serious problem. However, some cavities are more difficult to see than others because they are between the teeth. Many times, patients don\u2019t pick up on interproximal cavities right away because they are not easily seen. Usually, it becomes apparent when the patient begins to feel pain. This generally occurs when the cavity is deep enough that it penetrates the enamel and reaches it, patients are likely to experience sensitivity and discomfort. The only way to know for certain that you have an interproximal cavity is by seeing a dentist. They will usually confirm this by using a bitewing X-ray.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
