How ClearCorrect Works

ClearCorrect uses a series of custom-made clear aligners to gently move your teeth into improved, pre-planned positions. After taking digital impressions and photos, our team designs a treatment plan that maps out each step of your smile transformation. You’ll wear each set of aligners for about 20–22 hours a day, switching to a new set every one to two weeks.

As you progress, your aligners will apply gentle pressure to your pearly whites, slowly moving them to fix misalignments of all kinds. Treatment times vary, but most patients complete treatment in anywhere from 6 to 18 months, depending on the complexity of their case.

Who Can ClearCorrect Help

ClearCorrect can help teens and adults with mild to moderate orthodontic issues, including crowding, gaps, and certain bite problems. Some of the concerns the aligners can address include:

Crowded Teeth

Wisdom teeth and early oral habits can cause teeth to drift, causing them to twist or slip past one another. ClearCorrect can gently create space and realign crowded teeth, making your smile easier to clean.

Gaps Between Teeth

Thumb sucking and other habits from early in life can cause your teeth to move apart. If you have unwanted spaces between your teeth, ClearCorrect can easily close those gaps.

Bite Alignment

ClearCorrect can often correct minor overbites, underbites, and crossbites, helping improve comfort, aesthetics, and long-term dental health.

The Benefits of ClearCorrect

ClearCorrect aligners offer many advantages over traditional braces, such as:

  • Improved Comfort: The smooth, plastic trays fit snugly and reduce the irritation to your cheeks, gums, and tongue that can happen with metal braces.
  • Non-Invasive: ClearCorrect is removable, so you can eat your favorite foods and brush and floss as usual.
  • Highly Discreet: Because the aligners are nearly invisible, most people won’t notice you’re undergoing treatment, making them great for working adults and teens alike.
  • Faster Follow-Ups: Since there are no wires to tighten or brackets to adjust, follow-up appointments are usually only 15 to 20 minutes.

How Much Does ClearCorrect Cost?

Smiles are so unique that it’s difficult to provide an accurate estimate of your costs without a consultation. There are several factors that can affect the cost of ClearCorrect in Port Charlotte, including the complexity of your case and how long your treatment takes.

Mild alignment issues may require fewer trays and cost less, while more involved cases are higher in price. During your consultation with our team, we’ll examine your teeth, talk about your goals, and provide an honest estimate before moving forward.

We’re also happy to go over payment options and available financing through Cherry, so you can straighten your smile in a way that fits your budget.

ClearCorrect FAQs

Who Isn’t Eligible for ClearCorrect?

Any patient who has all their permanent teeth can use ClearCorrect, so very few people aren’t eligible for the treatment. Still, there are special cases where the aligner process may not suit you.

You may not qualify for ClearCorrect if your bite is very misaligned. In the latter scenario, clear aligners won’t shift your teeth enough to correct your orthodontic issues. You’d be better off with traditional braces or similar appliances; only these devices would address your severely distorted bite.

Similarly, chronic smokers are also ill-suited for ClearCorrect. Smoke and tobacco tend to stain clear aligners, as well as put your long-term oral health at risk. You’d have to quit your smoking habit if you wanted ClearCorrect to work for you.

Can You Eat While Wearing ClearCorrect Trays?

As convenient as they are, you can’t eat while wearing your ClearCorrect trays. You must remove them from your mouth before you chew any food.

Eating with ClearCorrect trays risks your treatment and your smile. The aligners are made of clear plastic, so they’ll suffer damage if you wear them while chewing. (Examples of such harm include cracks, stains, etc.) At the same time, they’d put needless and painful pressure on your teeth.

All in all, you can only consume water while wearing ClearCorrect trays. Anything else requires that you take your aligners out first.

Will You Need to Wear a Retainer After ClearCorrect Treatment?

As a matter of fact, yes – you’ll need to wear a retainer after you finish ClearCorrect in Port Charlotte. Not doing so would essentially undo your hard-earned treatment results.

Your teeth are still fairly mobile when you conclude the ClearCorrect process. Left to themselves, they could easily fall out of alignment and revert to their earlier crooked positions. Using a retainer prevents this outcome by keeping your now-straight smile from moving.

All that said, how long you’ll need a retainer will depend on your situation. Most patients must wear them every day for several months before night-only use becomes an option.
